Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 lb (80/20 blend for best flavor).
- Salt: 1 teaspoon.
- Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon.
- Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon.
- Worcestershire sauce: 1 tablespoon.
- Cheese slices: 4 (cheddar, American, or Swiss).
- Burger buns: 4, toasted.
- Lettuce: 4 leaves.
- Tomato: 1, sliced.
- Red onion: 1/2, thinly sliced.
- Ketchup and mustard: For serving.
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or stovetop pan to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
- Grill the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, add cheese slices on top and let melt.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 30 seconds.
- Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce, tomato slices, and onion on the bottom bun, followed by the patty.
- Spread ketchup and mustard on the top bun, then place it over the burger.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
