Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 can pineapple chunks, drained
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, green onions, soy sauce, and half of the pineapple juice.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. In a saucepan, combine the remaining pineapple juice, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Once the meatballs are cooked (about 20 minutes), pour the sauce over them and add the pineapple chunks.
  6. Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
