- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 can pineapple chunks, drained
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, green onions, soy sauce, and half of the pineapple juice.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, combine the remaining pineapple juice, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
- Once the meatballs are cooked (about 20 minutes), pour the sauce over them and add the pineapple chunks.
- Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- These meatballs can be made ahead and frozen for later use.
