Description

A delightful and easy-to-make summer dessert featuring a mix of fresh berries baked in individual jars, perfect for serving at gatherings or enjoying as a personal treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mixed fresh berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the mixed berries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Stir until the berries are well coated.
  3. Divide the berry mixture evenly among 4 mason jars.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Spoon the batter over the berries in each jar, spreading it evenly.
  7. Place the jars on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berries are bubbling.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • You can use frozen berries if fresh ones are not available; just increase the baking time slightly.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
