Ingredients
  

For the Ribs

  • 1 rack baby back ribs membrane removed
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard to help the rub stick

For the Dry Rub

  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional for heat

For the BBQ Sauce

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup for caramelization
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar for tanginess

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better seasoning absorption.

  • Rub a thin layer of yellow mustard over the ribs to help the dry rub stick.
  • Mix all dry rub ingredients in a bowl, then generously coat both sides of the ribs.
  • Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until the ribs are tender.
  • In a small bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, honey (or maple syrup), and apple cider vinegar.
  • Remove the ribs from the oven and brush them generously with the BBQ sauce mixture.
  • Broil the ribs for 5-7 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.
  • Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a smokier flavor, add a dash of liquid smoke to the BBQ sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
