For the Cake
- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
For the Strawberry Filling
- 1 box strawberry gelatin (Jell-O) 3 oz
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
For the Topping
- 2 cups whipped topping (Cool Whip)
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries sliced
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let the cake cool for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, then add cold water and mix.
Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake, then pour the strawberry gelatin mixture over the top.
Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to set.
Spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake and garnish with fresh strawberry slices.
Slice and serve chilled for the best flavor!
For a different twist, use raspberry or cherry gelatin. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
